Logistics Manager

Verbatim Americas seeks an experienced LOGISTICS MANAGER to be in charge of company's distribution, movement and storage of its products. The main duties include reviewing and maintaining budgets; processing shipments; building delivery routes; overseeing shipping and distribution operations; using software to track and prioritize orders; managing important shipping documents; and, collaborating with various departments to optimize processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; and other duties may be assigned:

  •     Liaises and negotiates with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and consumers.
  •     Keeps track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.
  •     Arranges warehouse, plan routes and process shipments.
  •     Resolves any arising problems or complaints.
  •     Meets cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets.
  •     Maintains metrics and analyzes data to assess performance and implement improvements.
  •     Ensures processes and procedures comply with laws and regulations.
  •     Strategically administers, coordinates and manages logistics, warehouse, and transportation.
  •     Manages 3PL Distribution including scheduling, expediting, customer returns, transportation, storage and shipping of customer orders.
  •     Maintains database for domestic and international customers, which is used to produce Verbatim financial and sales reports.
  •     Coordinates the efforts to adjust inventory and production schedules as required.
  •     Ensures compliance with GSA and International trade laws.
  •     Establishes and recommends approval of departmental budgets and implements the necessary steps to keep expenditures within budgetary limits.
  •     Negotiates and maintains transportation contracts and tariffs.
  •     Acts as an interface between customers and IT staff to ensure EDI set ups when required.
  •     Determines best transportation method to meet customer demands and AOP.

  •     Bachelor's degree; or two to six years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  •     Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and present to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  •     Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SAP software.
  •     Should possess the ability to manage difficult customer situations.
  •     Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  •     Must possess sound judgement skills, and excellent attention to detail.
  •     It is a busy work environment; therefore, must be able to prioritize work and use time efficiently.
  •     Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff.
  •     Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
