Verbatim Americas seeks a Controller to work closely with the CFO to help manage and administer the financial operations for Verbatim Americas LLC, which includes helping to manage the company's financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the establishment and maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial plans, forecasts and budgets. The Controller will help develop and maintain financial and accounting systems for purposes of fiscal control and financial and managerial reporting; and will supervise three direct reports.

This position is based in Charlotte, NC but after the initial training period, offers work from home/hybrid flexibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned.

  • Manages general, cost, and property accounting activities, including: general ledger, accounts payable, travel and expense reimbursement, inventory valuation, capital expenditure authorization and control, fixed assets.
  • Manages treasury and cash activities, including: domestic and foreign bank accounts, daily cash and EFT transactions, foreign currency exposure and loan covenant compliance.
  • Works with CFO to coordinate the development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).  Helps establish budgets and monitors expenditures against the budget.  Updates financial forecasts.
  • Manages the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.  Prepares internal and external financial reports.  Analyzes financial performance to AOP and forecasts.
  • Coordinates with independent auditors on accounting matters.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance; or equivalent combination of education and experience; minimum 10 yrs of progressive, hands-on accounting managerial experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing, supervising and building teams.
  • Must be current with regulations and compliance issues, to include experience with internal control systems including requirements for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • Must possess excellent problem solving and analytical reasoning skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading process improvement initiatives.
  • Solid project management skills including attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple high priority tasks.
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • CPA/CMA preferred, with excellent technical accounting knowledge and ability to research issues.
  • Requires proficiency in SAP, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
