What is PLA?

PLA, short for polylactic acid, is a plastic made of renewable starches, such as corn and sugarcane. Available in a wide range of colors and translucencies, it is often preferred for display or household use. When properly cooled, PLA generally has higher maximum printing speeds, lower layer heights, and sharper printed corners. In general, parts printed using PLA have a glossier finish and are more rigid than ABS. PLA is available in both 1.75mm and 3mm.
